Beauty hacks that really work
Sometimes all you need is a little beauty hack to save the day, so here are some of my top tips to come to the rescue!
No.1 Heater Lash Curlers – not need to buy these, just heat your curlers blades in the hot air of a hair dryer before curling for extra effective, va-va-voom lash curling.
No.2 Plump up the pout – for the illusion of fuller lips, use an eye shadow highlighter and apply in a strip down the centre of your lips, top to bottom, this creates a 3d effect, making the lips look fuller.
No.3 Sellotape – yep, that’s right, perfect for picking up glitter eyeshadow application fallout from the cheeks, just press onto the area and the particles will stick to the tape so you can lift away.
No.4 Faking the Falsies – all you need is mascara and baby powder for this. Apply a coat of mascara, using with a clean wand or cotton bud, dip into the baby powder and then cost the underside of the lashes, then apply another coat of mascara, the powder will stick to the lash, making it appear thicker and longer.
No.5 Make your own detangling spray by mixing one part conditioner with 3 parts water, pop in a spray bottle then spritz through the day to prevent dehydrated, frizzy hair.
No.6 Use your mascara as an eye-liner. With an angled brush, grab some of the product from the brush or wand and drag it along your lash line to create a perfect flick.
No. 7 Coconut oil makes a great makeup remover. Pop some on a damp cotton pad and wipe away, it even removes waterproof mascara and there’s the added bonus that it softens and conditions the skin too and that wasn’t enough it’s fab for dry ends, rub a teenie-weenie bit in before bed.
No.8 Do you suffer with dry, cracked feet? Smother them with Vaseline and pop on some socks before going to bed, overnight the Vaseline with soak in and nourish dry skin and when you wake in the morning you’ll have baby soft feet.
No.9 Brighten your complexion with lemon juice. Squeeze fresh lemon juice onto a cotton pad and sweep across your face for an instant glow. The astringent nature of the juice will also tighten skin and contract pores.
